EV SOL is one of Australia and New Zealand’s leading integrated telecommunications and technology service delivery organisations. We specialise in designing, building, operating and maintaining social and business-critical communications systems throughout Australasia.
The project:
Due to the successful awarding of major telecommunications carrier contracts, our National Design and Engineering team are looking for a Structural Engineer (CPEng) to drive the design and analysis for medium to to large-scale telecommunications and critical communications projects.
The role:
Reporting to the Design Manager, the Senior Structural Engineer will perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes, standards, engineering formulas required for a diverse range of structures. These will typically involve mobile, wireless and broadcast infrastructure structures.
More specifically this role will include;
DESIGN:
- Working with the EV SOL’s engineering cohort on the production of civil/structural engineering calculations.
- Performing design and analysis functions for various communications, utility and other structures
- Structural assessments and evaluations of existing communications, utility and other structures
- Modelling of telecommunications structures such as towers, monopoles and rooftops structures
- Providing Civil/Structural engineering plans, designs, and layouts
- Performing site inspections and surveys as required to complete designs to specification.
- Developing solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule and project constraints
- Reviewing / Certifying designs prepared by others and peer review.
- Managing, administering and designing structural components of non-structural projects
DELIVERY
- Managing work, ensuring activities are coordinated and completed on time and within budget.
- Managing and reporting on performance to schedule, budget and utilisation
- Liaising with engineers, planning & property consultants ensuring all designs meets the criteria of all disciplines.
- Clear and concise communication (written & verbal) of complex ideas & issues to the rest of the team, clients and stakeholders.
The Person We are targeting candidates with:
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in a civil/ structural engineering discipline
- CPEng qualification / Registered Professional Engineer – Australia or close to completing.
- 3 – 5 plus years’ experience in civil /structural engineering design (telecommunications).
- Demonstrable project experience working in a fast-paced multi-location, multi-client environment.
- Experience in common structural design software tools (MS Tower, SPACEGASS, Multiframe, Microstran).
- Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and principles, calculation methods, standards and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong knowledge of Australian Building Codes and relevant Standards
- Experience in Optus & Telstra design processes, systems and requirements.
- Demonstrable integrity and high personal and professional standards
- Ability in assisting and mentoring graduate/ junior staff

The role:
Due to growth, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated RF Compliance Coordinator to take charge of handling end to end activities within our RF (Radio Frequency) and EME (Electromagnetic energy) team in support of some major projects that we have been recently awarded.In addition to this your solid coordinating skills will be vital in supporting various other aspects of our project team on a national basis.
This position will see you working in a very fast paced and ever changing environment. The role requires the coordination of all activities relating to EME elements of our projects with our external providers.
You will possess a positive, team orientated and ‘can do’ attitude and will thrive on meeting project milestones within contractual time frames.
In addition to this, your primary responsibilities will include the following;
- Coordinate activities between EV SOL’s Design and Engineering disciplines and external parties to ensure end to end design delivery.
- Ensure that the requirements of the design deliverables are met
- Manage and maintain the project SharePoint page for the purposes of Document Control.
- Develop realistic time frames / being aware of the importance for flexibility in planning.
- Provide input to project schedule updates and ensure accuracy of dates.
- Daily interaction with our customer systems and platforms to ensure project information is updated, accurate and complete.
- Develop an understanding of contractual agreements.
- Advise any potential delays outside EV SOL’s control that could potentially lead to an EOT against the contract deliverables.
- Assist with project performance analysis (actuals to forecast).
- Work with Finance teams to provide Purchase Orders for subcontractors and invoicing of client.
- Ensure that Engineering, SAED Teams and Programme Managers are informed of project progress (eg. Meetings, status reports, issues).
- Quality checks of Design packages before submission.
- Contribute to the overall development and growth of EV Solutions Australia.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following;
- Proven project administration skills (2+ years), including ability to prioritise and organise workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Strong PC skills (Word and Excel)
- Working knowledge of formulas in Excel
- Good multi-tasking skills
- Professional attitude
- Willingness to assist staff with general admin
- Strong attention to detail
